A Real American Hero: Billy Baldwin

“Billy Baldwin is one of the best-known names in the history of 20th-century interior design. And for good reason: He is the man who gave us the white slipper chair. He put wicker furniture in the living room. He used dark brown walls and white slipcovered sofas together with an assurance that still shows modernists the way, and his rooms for Cole Porter and style icons Babe Paley and Deeda Blair are some of the most-photographed and best-loved of American interiors.”
