About the Author

William E. Wallace is a professor of art history at Washington University in St. Louis and is an internationally recognized authority on Michelangelo and his contemporaries. In addition to more than eighty articles and essays on Renaissance art, Wallace has written or edited six different books on Michelangelo, including Universe’s Michelangelo: The Complete Sculpture, Painting, Architecture.
