About this Book

Published on the eve of the fiftieth anniversary of the debut of La Dolce Vita, this is the most authoritative survey ever of Federico Fellini’s complete oeuvre.

This definitive and important contribution on Federico Fellini chronicles the body of work of one of the most influential and revered directors of all time, and one of Italy’s most important modern cultural icons. It features the great director’s own drawings, sketches, storyboards, notes, and commentary along with behind-the-scenes photographs—both on set and off—and covers each film from the entire span of his career. Largely never before published, the material collected in this lavishly illustrated volume is drawn primarily from the archives of the Fellini Foundation and from the Fellini family’s private collection.

This major tribute is certain to be a must-have for any serious cinephile, fan, or student.

About the Author

Federico Fellini’s acclaimed films include La Dolce Vita, Amarcord, 8 1/2, La Strada, and Satyricon, among many others. He received numerous awards, including several Oscars, Golden Globes, and Palmes d’Or as well as Japan’s Praemium Imperiale. Fellini inspired and influenced countless younger directors and is one of the twentieth century’s most acclaimed cultural figures. His unique cinematographic style and the importance of his work endure not only on film but even in the very word "Felliniesque."
Tullio Kezich
is the film critic for Italy’s leading newspaper, Corriere della Sera, and also the editor of Fellini’s Book of Dreams.
