Studio Valle de Valle: Interiors

The much anticipated first monograph from the young design firm that defines modernism shaped by craft, character, and lived-in elegance.

Perhaps the freshest voice in interior design of their generation, Studio Valle de Valle produces rooms that are a balancing act between whimsy and sophistication, between innovation and restraint. At once intimate and formal, Valle de Valle’s bespoke interiors are the equivalent of a well-loved Hermès handbag: the fine craftsmanship and custom details become more evident with time and use. This debut volume presents ten residential projects that articulate a distinctive balance between formality and ease. Spanning urban townhouses, private homes, and freestanding pavilions, each interior reflects a consistent sensibility rather than a fixed style.

Spaces are animated through saturated, textured wall finishes, gently expressive patterns, and a careful interplay of custom and collected elements. Hand-carved wood furniture, plush upholstery, and built-in pieces anchor rooms with a sense of permanence, while commissioned artworks and collaborative objects introduce wit and visual rhythm. Together, these elements create environments that feel personal, layered, and deeply inhabitable.

Viewed collectively, the projects present an approach to domestic design that values warmth, precision, and longevity.

Reviews

VOGUE's Best New Design and Art Books to Know This Fall: "The first book from Giancarlo Valle and Jane Keltner de Valle’s Studio Valle de Valle solidifies the duo as a “quietly daring new voice in the world of design,” as Mayer Rus, West Coast editor of Architectural Digest, writes in the book’s foreword. Punctuated by descriptions that read like poetry, the photos are a feast of unexpected colors and textures: marigold crushed velvet paired with emerald stone for a sexy, artful barroom at Mexico’s Hotel Esencia, for example, or a dusty mauve rug for a walk-in closet at a Lenox Hill townhouse."

"Partners in business and life, Giancarlo Valle and Jane Keltner de Valle survey ten residences that reveal how richly textured materials and bespoke elements lend warmth and personality to their interiors." — GALERIE MAGAZINE

"the first book on New York’s Valle de Valle Studio, Giancarlo Valle’s firm that’s now co-run by Jane Keltner de Valle...based on his work alone there’s no way it’s not a stunner." — SIGHT UNSEEN
