NYC Cocktails: The drinks that make the city

New York drinks’ journalist Kathryn Maier takes us through the history of New York cocktails, with more than 60 recipes to make at home.

NYC Cocktails takes us back to the beginning of New York’s cocktail scene, to the grand hotels of the nineteenth century and the creation of the Manhattan, Martini, Clover Club, and Gin & It. Fast-forward to the ’80s and indulge in a Cosmopolitan, Naked and Famous, Ritz Cocktail, or an Old Cuban to the sound of Yacht Rock, before staggering your way into the twenty-first century to sample the contemporary creations that are sure to become classics in their own right.

With a handy guide to glassware and garnishes, plus stunning illustrations of the cocktails, New York bars, and some of the people who inspired or invented particular drinks, NYC Cocktails is a beautiful, authoritative guide to making some of the world’s best drinks.
