Luceplan - Made in Light

A collective narrative that retraces over forty years of Luceplan’s creative research, spanning the history of Italian and international illumination design from the 1980s to the present day, blending technological innovation and lighting culture.

From the birth of Costanza—a timeless icon capable of redefining the relationship between formal simplicity, function, and everyday life—to the latest experiments in electronics, sustainability, and acoustic comfort, this volume explores the identity of a company that has transformed light into a design language. Through critical essays, designers’ testimonies, and an extensive visual narrative from the archives, the book showcases the evolution of Luceplan as a laboratory of ideas. From iconic lamps to modular systems, and from acoustic solutions to new poetics of light, what emerges is the profile of a pioneering company, capable of interpreting light as a sensory experience and anticipating changes in contemporary living and international design.
