ArtCarsten Höller: ExperienceText by Daniel Birnbaum, Lynne Cooke, Massimiliano Gioni, Jessica Morgan and Hans Ulrich Obrist
About This BookCarsten Höller has created a world that is equal parts laboratory and fun house. He explores important themes such as architecture, childhood, love, happiness, hallucination, and the future. Trained as a scientist, his work often takes the form of experiments designed to test the limits of human sensorial experience through carefully controlled situations. About the AuthorCarsten Höller was born in Belgium and lives and works in Sweden. His work has been shown around the world, including exhibitions at Fondazione Prada, Milan (2000), the ICA Boston (2003), and Musée d'Art Contemporain, Marseille (2004). In 2006, he conceived Test Site for the Unilever Series at Tate Modern, London, which comprised a three-story-high slide traversing the museum’s massive public hall, and represented Sweden (with Miriam Bäckström) at the 51st Biennale di Venezia. |
