Book Excerpt: Jay McInerney on Joy Division’s Heyday

“Thirty years after lead singer Ian Curtis committed suicide at age 23, post-punk pioneers Joy Division remain one of their generation’s most influential bands. With a foreword by fan Jay McInerney, Rizzoli’s monograph Joy Division showcases the band’s few but potent years of existence, through Kevin Cummins’s stirring backstage photography.”

“Stickers: Stuck-Up Piece of Crap” at Art Basel Miami

“We recently showed you images of Shepard Fairey down in Miami installing his mural inside this year’s Wynwood Walls cafe (covered). Well, more images have just surfaced from the Wynwood Walls project, courtesy of legendary street photographer Martha Cooper. A Real American Hero: Billy Baldwin

“Billy Baldwin is one of the best-known names in the history of 20th-century interior design. And for good reason: He is the man who gave us the white slipper chair. He put wicker furniture in the living room. He used dark brown walls and white slipcovered sofas together with an assurance that still shows modernists the way, and his rooms for Cole Porter and style icons Babe Paley and Deeda Blair are some of the most-photographed and best-loved of American interiors.”
